FAMILY MEDICINE SPECIALIST, OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH DOCTOR
Qualifications:MBBS (India),FRACGP (Australia),MAFP(Malaysia),Occupational Health Doctor(NIOSH),Diploma in Family Medicine(Malaysia)
Dr Shamsath is a graduate from JSS Medical College,Mysore,India in 1996 with a degree in MBBS.She underwent housemanship training in Hospital Alor Setar in various departments.Following that, she worked as a medical officer in the department of Medicine,Hospital Kuala Lumpur for 5 years.She worked in all the subspecialities such as nephrology, dermatology, neurology, cardiology, IPR,haematology ,gastroenterology and internal medicine.She gained vast experience under the guidance of top specialists in the country.She passed her MRCP Part 1 in 2003 but had to resign due to personal reasons.
After doing locum in various clinics, she started working as a full time general practitioner since year 2007.She went on to do her Diploma in Family Medicine in 2008 and went on to do her FRACGP which she completed in 2013.She is registered under the National Specialist Registrar. She also did her Occupational Health under NIOSH in the year 2015.
She is active in the Academy of Family Physicians as a mentor and a trainee examiner.
She is dedicated in treating patients and believes in patient empowerment.
